SoCalRW’s S.M.A.R.T. Goals Challenge 2023
SoCalRW’s S.M.A.R.T. Goals Challenge
By Pamela Moran
Six months feels like a long time, but was October really all that long ago?
Here we are, almost April, and I have a question for you: What kind of progress - with your writing and in your career - have you made since October?
What about those January resolutions? How’s that working for you? Seriously, I’m not being flippant, I’d like to know.
C.J. Corbin’s January workshop on Achieving Your Dreams – The What, How, Why, and When of Setting S.M.A.R.T. Goals inspired me and I’m inviting each of you to join us for the next six months as we explore and set achievable goals, hold each other accountable through support and comradery with meet-ups after the regular meetings and monthly Zoom meetings, along with a private Groups IO forum open for ongoing discussions.
Let’s plan those goals, move forward, commiserate, and celebrate each milestone, each victory, and each other!
Come and join your fellow SoCalRW members for the new SoCalRW’s S.M.A.R.T. Challenge!
Southern California Romance Writers will provide each participant with a S.M.A.R.T. Goals pdf workbook complete with habit tracker tools and a place to record your goals and your progress, Google spreadsheets to record your progress so we can all cheer you on, forum access, and participant only monthly Zoom meetings to discuss any issues we’re having, any goal recalibrations, offering overall support, accountability, and celebrating the wins.
You, as a writer participating in this Challenge, will need to make a commitment to your six-month goal.
1. The Challenge runs from April 1st – September 30th.
2. Fill out the form below by March 31st – the fee is $36 (a reasonable $6 per month). After April 1st, the fee is $42.
3. Start thinking about where you’d like to be on October 1st. What goal do you want to accomplish? How do you break that far-reaching goal into smaller, more easily achieved monthly goals? You’re not alone in this – the workbook will help, plus we’ll be in contact with each other and never more than an email away.
4. There will be a Google spreadsheet for the over-arching six-month goal, along with six monthly spreadsheets to keep track of progress – part of the accountability process. We’ll call for your progress to be recorded once a week on the monthly spreadsheets and at the end of each month for the over-arching spreadsheet.
See you in the Challenge!
